Hello!  I'm Mrs. Highley!  I have been teaching 3rd grade at Jefferson Elementary for 11 years.  This will be my 12th year!  I have always taught 3rd grade.  I graduated from Butler University (Go Dawgs!) and have a degree in elementary education and an endorsement in special education.

I am originally from Greensburg, Indiana, which is about halfway between Indianapolis and Cincinnatti in Southern Indiana.  After getting married, I moved to Nappanee, then a few years later, closer to Jefferson.  I have been married to my husband Eric for 11 years.  He is a teacher at Northridge High School and the head wrestling coach.  We have three daughters.  Brea, who is almost 6, will be starting kindergarten this year at Jefferson.  Our identical 3 year old twins, Corrine and Nora, will be starting preschool at Brenneman!  We are excited to add in a baby boy to our family this fall (early October)!  We have a 9 year old chocolate lab named Woodley and an almost 3 year old goldfish named Ollie-Peeve.  We have a barn and pasture on our property that is home to a 19 year old horse named Penny!

I love to spend time at home with my girls, read books, put together puzzles (1,000 pieces are my favorite), and watch Hallmark Channel movies!  Some of my favorite foods are green olives, pickles, chocolate, regular Coca-Cola, and mochas!  I enjoy working in my classroom and creating curriculum to help my students succeed.
